Appointments

Our office is an appointment only based clinic. However, we will try our best to accommodate your child on the same day’s schedule if deemed necessary by the degree of illness.

Outside the office hours, an answering service is available, and an on-call provider will answer your call usually within a half an hour to assist you by phone regarding your child’s illness. You will be advised about the appropriate course of action. Antibiotics, or other significant medications, will not be called in by the on-call doctor. For maintenance medications, it is advisable to call our office for refills during office hours. Please do not call the pharmacy if you do not have refills.

We require a 24-hour notice before canceling or changing appointment. Therefore, vacant openings in the schedule can be given to another patient. No shows may be charged a fee per our office policy.  Failure to show up for appointments may result in dismissal from our practice as per our office policy, and is at the discretion of our practitioners. Insurance and Billing

We accept most of the major insurance carriers including several plans of Blue Cross Blue Shield (excluding Blue Select), United Healthcare , AvMed, Aetna, Cigna, Golden Rule, TriCare, PediCare, Staywell Healthy Kids,Sunshine Health Star (healthy kid program) and Ambetter, etc. We are also currently accepting straight Medicaid and other locally approved Medicaid HMOs including  Staywell, Humana, UInited Health care etc. We do not  accept any SELF-PAY/CASH PAY patients at this time.

Payment Options

Health insurance acceptance status changes with time, state regulations, and practice policy.  For current status of insurance acceptance for Sunshine Pediatrics of Ocala, P.A. kindly call our staff during office hours, and they will happily answer any of your questions.

Facilities and Equipment

Our office has some of the newest technology and state-of-the-art equipment including: a Pediavision Screening Camera , which is an automated vision screening tool for use in children 6 months and older; an Otoacoustic Emissions Screening tool , which allows us to evaluate your child’s hearing; and a Pulmonary Function Testing equipment, for our asthma patients. Our staff also performs some in-house lab work, including but not limited to: Urinalysis, Rapid Strep Testing, Influenza Testing, and Glucose sticks.
